By meditating regularly and deeply, you will awaken your soul — the immortal, blissful divine consciousness at the innermost core of your being.
— Paramahansa Yogananda

Meditation

Paramahansa Yogananda pioneered the modern-day yoga movement and introduced the ancient spiritual science of Kriya Yoga meditation to the United States in 1920.

The science of yoga meditation (Kriya Yoga) teaches techniques of controlling the life energy consciously, enabling one to disconnect the mind at will from the intrusion of the senses. This produces not an unconscious oblivion, but a blissful transference of identity from the false reality of the body and sensory world to the truth of one’s being, the supernal soul made in God’s image.

When practised regularly the three basic techniques of meditation taught by Paramahansa Yogananda lead unfailingly to deeper levels of spiritual awareness and perception.

These techniques may be learned through the SRF Lessons sent by mail for personal study from the Mother Center in Los Angeles, California.
